Kamloops Afro Films

Amplifying Black Voices Through Film

I am a proud and dedicated member of Kamloops Afro Films, a nonprofit film production organization based in Kamloops, British Columbia. Our mission at Kamloops Afro Films is the clear: to empower African and Black immigrants within our community through the art of filmmaking and storytelling. We’re committed to breaking down barriers by providing essential skills and opportunities in film within the Kamloops Black community. Currently, I act in “House 49”, an ongoing web series production by Kamloops Afro Films. Through projects like “House 49”, Kamloops Afro Films works to showcase diverse aspects of African and Black experiences and to provide a door into the world of filmmaking.

Telling the Immigrant Story

Set in Kamloops, “House 49” follows the interconnected lives of African immigrants building their new lives in a foreign land. It explores themes of identity and community, and sheds light on the ups and downs of the immigrant experience.
